The Best Disco Ball Decor Ideas for a Dazzling Party

If you want to add a little sparkle and fun to your space, disco ball decor is the way to go.

We chose a disco theme for my daughter’s recent birthday party because we took all her friends to a silent disco party at a local museum.

It was a blast! We had pizza and cake at our house before the silent disco so that’s where we were able to play up the fun disco decorations.

Whether planning a party, a retro-themed room or just wanting to add some playful flair, disco balls bring that perfect pop of shine and whimsy.

From mini disco ball vases to full-on mirrored ceiling pieces, there’s a way to incorporate these glittering spheres into any vibe.

Let’s dive into how you can turn any space into a dazzling dance party with some disco ball magic!

Setting the Tone for a Disco Party

  • Create a 70s-inspired atmosphere with disco ball ornaments and mirror disco balls in various sizes.
  • Use ombre 4D balloons, including 7 pcs 22 Inch 4D disco ball balloons, giant gradient balloons, and ombre balloons, to add some glamour and fun.
  • Many of the girls wore sparkly outfits and I even found an adorable disco ball dress that was cute and comfortable. Win-Win!

Disco Ball Decor Ideas and Placement

  • Hang a large disco ball from the ceiling to create a statement piece and focal point for the party. I also got a tinsel wreath on sale for a couple of bucks and paired that with a pink tinsel garland. I hung mini disco balls from it as well for a cool disco ball chandelier over the table.
  • Place smaller disco balls on tables or shelves to add some glamour and sparkle.
  • Use disco balls as centerpieces for tables, surrounded by candles, flowers, or other decorative elements.
  • I ordered disco ball mirror stickers and made a large “L” (for my daughter’s initial) with it by hot gluing the stickers to a piece of cardboard.
  • I also spelled out each girl’s name with the disco ball stickers for each place setting.

Incorporating the Disco Theme into Your Food and Drink

  • For the cupcakes, I ordered edible silver balls that reminded me of disco balls. I poured them over the cupcakes and we loved the way they turned out!
  • Think of how you can incorporate the disco ball in new and unusual ways. For my daughter’s birthday, we got pink disco ball bracelets. We used them as napkin rings on the table and then the girls wore them to the silent disco. They served as both decorations and party favors.
  • We also bought disco ball tumblers for the girls to drink lemonade out of. The girls were also able to take those home with them.
