Ultimate Pool Snacks: Fuel Your Fun in the Sun!
Pool snacks that will elevate the poolside experience are here!
With 4 kids on the swim team, I’m at the pool a LOT.
A lot. Like every day.
I’m always looking for easy ways to feed my kids that are healthy and won’t break the bank.
Dive into our ultimate guide to delicious pool snacks!
Whether you’re lounging in the sun or enjoying a swim, these refreshing and energizing treats will keep you satisfied and hydrated all day long.
Quick and Easy Pool Snacks
Yogurt Parfait Cups
- Ingredients (yogurt, granola, fresh berries)
- Layer the yogurt and then the fruit. You could add a little shredded coconut to the top.
- It’s a light and refreshing snack and super healthy. My son loves to add a little honey to his.
- I love the idea pictured above from wholefully.com. They took leftover applesauce cups and filled them with granola and then screwed that onto the top of the mason jar filled with yogurt and fruit. It keeps the granola from getting soggy. So clever!
- Just be careful with the glass jars around the pool. Probably plastic would be the best option because if you drop it around the pool the party will end pretty quickly.
Veggie Cups with Dip
- Recommended vegetables include cucumber, sliced peppers, carrot, and celery
- Dip options (hummus, ranch, greek yogurt dip, etc.)
- Put the dip in the bottom of the plastic cup and add veggies full of nutrients.
- Keep this snack on an ice pack so you can serve cold by the pool.
- Love these pictured above from The Country Cook
Fresh Fruit Skewers
- Ingredients needed – pick your favorite summer fruits like apples, mango, watermelon and pineapple
- Cut the fruit into big sized pieces and skewer them

Energizing Snacks for Active Pool Days
Frozen Smoothie Pops
- This is a great and healthy alternative to sugar-filled popsicles
- Popsicle molds are needed
- Blend up your favorite smoothie adding all the best fruit and maybe some spinach (shhh.. I won’t tell the kids if you don’t) and any extras like collagen and chia seeds.
- Pour into popsicles molds and let it sit until it freezes

Protein-Packed Snack Mix
- Ingredients (nuts, seeds, dried fruit)
- How to mix and store
- Benefits of protein during physical activity

Fun and Kid-Friendly Pool Snacks
Mini Sandwiches
- Loads of options for fillings (turkey, cheese, veggies)
- Bite-sized preparation – You can make one large sandwich and then cut into bit-sized pieces
- Creative presentation idea – the sky is the limit.
- You could also do a classic PB&J although I prefer not to take peanut butter to a pool with lots of kids because some might be allergic. You could skip the peanut butter altogether or opt for almond butter which can be safer.
- Kids don’t tend to eat a ton at the pool – at least mine don’t. So offering smaller options means less waste in my experience.

Pita Chips with Salsa
- Pita chips and salsa are filling and the kids love them
- You can make your own with fresh garden tomatoes – plenty of recipes online- or buy salsa for a couple of bucks at the store.
- I recommend salsa that’s not too spicy as the kids tend to not like that.
- You can also prepare your guacamole from a fresh avocado for a fun dip
- This is an easy and inexpensive summer snack

Snacks to Keep You Hydrated
Coconut Water Smoothies
- Add coconut water to your favorite smoothie recipe
- Nutritional benefits of coconut water are plentiful
- Ideal for replenishing electrolytes

Infused Water
- There are so many benefits of hydration by the pool. You can become depleted faster than you realize in the hot sun.
- This can offer the perfect fruit and herb combinations for tons of flavor
- Serve in a stylish pitcher or bottles

Watermelon Cucumber Salad
- It has an interesting texture with the watermelon-cucumber salad combination.
- You can make this with like five ingredients – watermelon, cucumber, feta, basil, lime and olive oil.
- I also recently made a couple of fresh watermelon cakes that were a smash and so easy to do.
